This privacy statement applies to all users of the website https://www.cvmaker.com.
CVmaker B.V., established at Keizersgracht 241 (1016 EA) in Amsterdam (hereinafter: "we" or "CVmaker"), is the controller as referred to in the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). We are responsible for the processing of personal data collected through the use of our website, http://www.cvmaker.com, unless otherwise indicated.
We respect the privacy of users, and thus we process and secure personal data provided to us in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
In this privacy statement, we explain which personal data we collect, use, and for what purpose. We recommend that you read this carefully. For any questions, you can contact us via email@example.com. Even if something is unclear and you wish for clarification, we ask you to contact us.
This privacy statement was last changed on april 17, 2019.
Use of Personal Data
To be able to create and/or manage your account (which contains the data for your Resume), some data is required. This data is therefore necessary to optimise our service.
Other data is necessary to create as complete a Resume as possible through our service or to (further) optimise your user experience of our services.
Our Service - making a resume or having it made
To be able to use our service, you must enter personal data on our website by means of a step-by-step plan. As soon as you have completed the first step and have clicked through to the second step, we will save all the details you have entered.
In the first step, we ask you for the following personal data:
- First and last name*;
- E-mail address*;
- Telephone number*;
- Profile picture;
- Date and place of birth;
- The statement of whether you have a driver's license;
- Marital status;
- URL of your LinkedIn profile;
- URL of any website to be added.
The personal data indicated with an asterisk are necessary to use our services. You only provide the other details to complete your Resume.
In the next step of our service, you will be asked to provide the following data:
- Training/education/history details, such as education, internships, courses, certificates (including period and institution);
- Work experience data, such as position and employer;
- Interests and additional activities;
- Skills and level;
After completing the above information, the user can design a Resume in Step 3 and make use of the option to take out a (directly cancellable) subscription with CVmaker against (a monthly) payment. By means of that service, the user can constantly view, download, and edit the Resume that they have filled in and designed. The user can use all other functions, such as making unlimited application letters, sending applications, and searching for (matching) jobs.
To properly arrange the payment for the aforementioned subscription, we use the services of third parties such as (but not limited to) Adyen, PayPal, Stripe, and Mollie Payments. You provide your payment details directly to that party (and not to CVmaker). It is possible that that third party shares certain information about you (such as your name and bank details) so that we can check whether you have paid.
The aforementioned service providers are responsible for processing (and not CV maker) data for the payments of users.
We only save the data entered by users after you have clicked through to Step 2 of our service. If you have not subsequently taken out a subscription, CVmaker will keep the information you entered up to one month after CVmaker has sent you a second e-mail reminding you whether you want to finish your Resume and take out a subscription. In the event that you do not respond or reject it, your data will be deleted after one month.
In the event that you have taken out a subscription, we will keep the information you provided until you indicate to us that the (and which) information must be deleted. In any case, we will send you a message one year after your last activity via our service, asking whether we should keep your data. In the absence of a response, we will delete your data one month after that last e-mail.
In the meantime, we can approach users to make personal offers. For sending these e-mails, we use the (first) name and e-mail address provided by users. In these e-mails, we naturally offer users the option to delete their data at CVmaker.
Purposes of Use of Data
We use different types of personal data for different purposes: for example, we use contact information to contact users in the context of the conclusion and/or execution of the agreement, invoicing, and to provide an overview of the products and services that users have with us.
If users have given CVmaker permission (and have paid for it) to link their personal Resume to relevant jobs offered by third parties via CVmaker, we will send users emails with job openings that have been selected by us based on their personal Resume.
We also have a legitimate interest in tracking usage data via cookies in order to improve our services.
